Our class did a big freeze frame about why we are different.

My speech this Year :)

We did our speeches this week and i was so nervous , my friends said that my whole face when tomato red but after i stared i got less nervous  and i was feeling pretty happy about myself,it was really fun .

My Science fair projects from last Year :)

Last year my science fair project was called soil erosion,the reason why i did soil erosion is so people can know what the main cause .The main cause is when it rain fall the dirt that's not compacted will wash away in to a river and causes the river to get really dirty and that's why there's not much rivers to swim in anymore.So thats why i decided  to do soil erosion to show people what we need to do to save hour rivers.so got in to the regionals and then into prize giving,i got two silver certificates  and one gold one,i also got a new set of headphones,a little golden dinosaur to put a little plant in it and but not last but not lest I got a big trophy that had my name on it,the science fair was so much FUN!!!!

Farm Trip By Tayla

1. Farm Trip 

2. The cold breeze  blew on my face,a chill run down my spine as we hop out of the bus to learn about the farm and to also get some samples to do our testing back at Makaraka.We all ran up the hill to a weather station on one of the hills.when we got there Andrew told us all about the weather station          ( Andrew owned the farm with his partner Renee ) they show us how it worked,after that Renee showed us how she measured the grass we all got a turn at banging the pegs in so that the sheep didn't get the grass.

3.The reason why we went there is because we wanted to get some samples of dirt so we can test them because at Makaraka we are making a business  it's called ( Done-Done-DONE ) SEED R US We also went there so that we can learn about farming.

4.What stood out out to me was that at the tree nursery,they had willow and poplar.Willow was for the river bed and the poplar was for the hill sides to stop rock slides.If you cut a long bruch of and then if you plant it it will keep on growing  

5.The thing that I most enjoyed is that We all got to learn about farms I had such a good time there I'd go back again.   :)

6. I wonder how they can herd 1600 sheep and 8000 cows ?

Our whole school visited Whatatutu today to explore Mangatu Marae and the Lloyd’s restored Pa site.It was an amazing experience

Ice skating

Tayla ANZAC Biscuits

Ingredients

     1 cup rolled oats  1 cup thread coconut 1 cup flour                           1 cup sugar
1 tsp of baking soda
1 tablespoon of golden syrup
125g of butter
1 cup of hot water

           Methed

• Preheat oven to 180°C. Lightly grease a baking tray or line with baking paper.
• Combine the oats, coconut, flour, and sugar together in a large bowl.
• Melt the butter and golden syrup together. Dissolve the baking soda in the boiling water and add to the butter mixture. Pour the butter mixture into the dry ingredients and mix together.
• Roll teaspoons into balls and place on the tray, allowing room for them to spread.
• Bake for 12-15 minutes, cooking one tray at a time.

Goal of the week

Here are my goals for term 1... each week we get a new quote a new slide and new goals,we have Learning,Social and behaviour goals,we reflect on our previous goals,we also reflect on the quote and write about the new quote :)
